And dailyfoodmix is my little corner of the internet!
I launched dailyfoodmix in March 2018 while I was still working full‑time as a graphic designer in Asheville, NC. I’d been hosting weekly dinner parties for friends and found myself scribbling recipes on napkins between client meetings. One rainy Tuesday I realized I had enough notes for a website, so I turned my kitchen experiments into a simple blog.
Fast forward to today, dailyfoodmix reaches about 120,000 unique visitors each month and ships a newsletter to 7,500 subscribers every Friday. In the past year we’ve added a “Quick‑Mix” video series, which now has 250,000 cumulative views on YouTube, and the site hosts over 800 recipes, from weeknight stir‑fries to holiday feasts. I’m proud that the community has grown into a supportive space where home cooks share tweaks and celebrate their own food wins.
I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband, Mark, and our two energetic kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not whisking, I’m hiking the nearby trails, digging through vintage record crates, or perfecting my cold brew at the kitchen counter. My favorite things are a good book, a fresh basil plant, and the sound of a skillet sizzle at sunset.
One quirky habit I have is that I keep a tiny notebook titled “Flavor‑Ideas” on my fridge. It’s where I jot down the odd pairings that later become a recipe—like strawberry‑basil salsa or miso‑caramel ice cream. If you ever spot a dish that feels a little out‑there, chances are it started in that little notebook.
